Sparkling

Charles Heidsieck Brut Reserve
2018, Champagne AOC, France
Everything you love & expect from good champagne: fine bubbles, baked orchard fruits, toast, & a delightfully long finish that lingers long after the last sip.

Louis Roederer Cristal
2009, Champagne AOC, France
A blend of 60% Pinot Noir and 40% Chardonnay, this wine offers aromas reminiscent of baked peach & apple tarts, warm bread, white spring flowers, & an undeniable chalkiness that recalls Champagne’s limestone soils.

Taittinger Prestige Rosé Cuvée
NV, Champagne AOC, France
Around 15% of the blend is from still Pinot Noir grown in the area, which gives this wine its eye-popping pink color. It’s all red fruits (think raspberries and red currants) underpinned by a lovely richness and velvety bubbles to please the palate.

White

Chardonnay
2020, Domaine Laroche, Chablis AOC, France
No, this isn’t the “Chablis” from California you’ve seen in jugs; this is the real deal Chardonnay from the northernmost and coolest area of Burgundy. It’s flinty, bright, and still full of caramelized citrus to enjoy.

Chardonnay
2020, Louis Jadot, Meursault AOC, France
Textbook white Burgundy from a négociant (merchant) that’s long been known for quality and value. This wine doles out apple and peach compote notes enveloped in a hazelnutty richness that’s sure to please lovers of Chardonnay.

Chenin Blanc (“The FMC”)
2016, Ken Forrester, Stellenbosch, South Africa
Perhaps the very best example of Chenin Blanc on the planet, Ken blends this wine from old vine Chenin harvested at different stages of ripeness to achieve maximum complexity and deliciousness. Think orange blossoms, honey, ripe nectarine and pineapple, and warm spices from some time in oak barrels. This is a true signature wine unlike any other in the world.

Red

Pinot Noir
2019, Works & Days, Sonoma, California
Plush, fruit-forward example of Pinot Noir with heaps of black cherries, pomegranate, and forest berries framed by oak-imparted vanilla. If you’re a fan of Sonoma Pinot, this hits all the right notes.

Pinot Noir
2019, Cristom Marjorie Vineyard, Willamette Valley, Oregon
Originally from the Pittsburgh area, the owners of Cristom named the estate after their children and specialize in some of the best Pinots in the nation, if not the world. The Marjorie vineyard, named after a family matriarch, boasts the estate’s oldest plantings, and the wine is a knockout with pure red and black berry fruit, dark cherries, wild herbs, and a whiff of Earl Grey tea and heady incense. The texture on the palate is velvety and smooth with soft tannins and mouthwatering acidity. A true treat for the senses.

Nebbiolo
2019, Gaja Barbaresco, Piedmonte, Italy
The fragrance coming from this wine is heavenly with dried violets and roses, ripe and tart berries, star anise, and leather. A gorgeous garnet in the glass, this wine is powerful, savory, and elegant.

Chianti Classico
2020, I Fabbri, Lamole DOCG, Italy
An aromatic take on Sangiovese that delivers dark strawberry and raspberry notes on the nose and palate, but there’s more: think dried herbs like thyme, hints of savory olive, and a grainy leather on the finish. Rustic in all the right ways.

Chateauneuf-du-Pape
2020, M. Chapoutier La Bernardine, Rhône, France
Warm red fruits on the nose give way to pepper and black olive. As you swirl the wine in your glass, even more pops out, with dried lavender, rosemary, and a smoky sensation that’s almost meaty in character.

Nebbiolo
2019, Collina San Ponzio, Barolo DOCG, Italy
The signature, heady aromas of Barolo stand out immediately in the glass, namely dried rose petals and baking spices like star anise, nutmeg, and cardamom. The palate offers some of that and more, adding tart cherry, violet, and something recalling tar and clay to give the wine a lovely bass note.

Sangiovese
2018, Lambardi, Brunello di Montalcino DOCG, Italy
Dark, sour cherries with a whiff of sandalwood, cigar boxes, and – what is that? Tobacco? Complex, muscular, and practically begging you to order it with your favorite cured meats and cheeses for maximum enjoyment.

Cabernet Sauvignon
2014, Austin Hope, Paso Robles, California
This wine is sometimes described as being “lavish,” and that makes total sense. It’s full-bodied and bursting with black and purple fruit flavors and aromas, the tannins are mouth-filling and luxurious, and there’s something that recalls brown butter on the finish. Lavish, indeed.

Cabernet Sauvignon
2017, Inglenook, Napa Valley, California
The warmth of the valley floor shines through in this big, bold wine full of blackberry preserves and plums. There’s an earthiness that reminds of truffles and cocoa powder, and you can detect a beautiful wet cedar aroma that floats on top of the richness underneath.

Cabernet Sauvignon
2019, Au Sommet, California
Savory herbs, dark chocolate, and mint combine in this wine grown at higher elevations overlooking the hotter Napa Valley floor. It’s different than your typical Napa Cabernet – a bit more restrained and savory than its cousins in warmer lower elevations, but certainly not lacking in depth and concentration.
